Call to County Convention
The Muscatine County Republican Convention will be held on March 8, 2008 at 9am – noon
Location: The School Administration Building
2900 Mulberry Ave. Muscatine, Iowa
The Republican Convention
will conduct the following business:
A. Elect 31 delegates and 16 alternate delegates to the District and State Republican Conventions.
B. Create a County Republican Platform
C. Elect District Convention Committee Members

Current Delegate status: There have been three AT LARGE delegates selected: Senator Jim Hahn, County Co-Chair Bob Bahn and Iowa Federation of Republican Women President Nancy Miller.
This time this reduces the delegates nominated from the floor to 28.
There will be these District Committee Members nominated
1 RULES — 2 PLATFORM — 1 CREDENTIALS
Anyone accepting these positions must be a delegate and be available to attend a March 15 meeting in Mount Pleasant (possibly more meetings).
The Agenda and Rules are posted on this page for download when each is available. A hard copy should be available to without email at Country Cobbler in the Muscatine Mall by February 25. We have attempted to email and call all delegates.

*District State Delegate seating payment – Leslie Soule
*Delegates chosen to go to the District Convention in Iowa City, will also go to State. We are asking that each delegate commits to attend BOTH the District and State convention. A $40 Delegate fee must be paid (cash or check) before Delegate seating is complete for the District and State conventions.
There is also a $20 meal cost for the State convention payable at this time (optional – but there are not a lot of places to eat around there, so it’s recommended) The delegate fee is non-refundable and will be transferred to the Alternate if there is one available.
State and local candidates for office will be afforded 3 minutes to speak. (some candidates will be traveling so the session could be interrupted periodically when a candidate arrives) We hope to publish a speaker list soon.
8am-9am Credentials – check in
PLEASE NOTE: Delegates not seated by 9am will be replaced by an Alternate (this includes Junior Delegates)
9:00am – County Convention starts.
All amendments must be submitted by 9:30 with required signatures (see the RULES that can be downloaded above.
9:30-11am – Junior Delegation meets separately
We intend to adjourn the convention by noon
